Adam Mellema is Head of Content for Yippee TV, exclusive home of the new VeggieTales. As a key member of the launch team, Mellema oversaw the licensing of 69 shows including Madeline and Richard Scary’s Busy Town, and YouTube Channel content from Fish WhispererEnglish Tree TV, and Arts & Crafts By Three Sisters. Most notably, Mellema oversaw the creation of 29 original series for Yippee, boasting more than 500 episodes of content in 18 months, and becoming profitable within 2 years.

As a content creator himself, Mellema is most known for his series Yonas Gets A Job, The Daily Devo Show, co-creating the campy action figure hit, Playtime, and Backseat Drivers, the world’s first car show for kids.

Adam received a regional Emmy Award for his work on Come On Over, his first kids TV show gig. For Disney Channel, Adam was a producer and writer on all 12 Disney Channel feature-length “What’s What Editions,” (akin to VH1’s pop-up video) including High School Musical, Camp Rock, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. Other credits for Disney include two seasons of music videos for Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and an episode of Phineas & Ferb featuring Kelly Osbourne. At the Hub Network, Adam’s favorite projects included the Spooksville: Freak Files web series, an Alf Marathon (hosted by Alf) and the Blossom Reunion. Adam also produced David Hasselhoff’s Hoff-a-thon special for AXS-TV, and has directed Barbie videos for Mattel, and content for Snapchat.

Before falling in love with children’s television, Adam Mellema lived large in the world of storytelling, having performed at the Washington Storytellers Theatre, the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Perkins School for the Deaf and Blind in Boston, The International Day School in Johannesburg, South Africa, and in Salt Lake City during the 2002 Olympics. In 2019, Mellema was an artist-in-residency at the Shanghai American School. For years he has performed original works and stories from his mostly-true life at schools and libraries across the country.

Adam’s YouTube channel Adam’s Answers, features 100+ social-emotional videos for kids and their families. In his “spare time,” Adam serves as Treasurer of the Los Angeles Breakfast Club’s Foundation Board which distributes close to 40 grants each year, and is board president emeritus for the LA-based Rogue Artists Ensemble.
